S & P-Traps and Drain Lines

A S & P-trap is a plumbing fixture that is a U-shaped bit of pipe which is installed under the sinks in your bathroom, kitchen, laundry, and service areas.

Its primary function is to trap any dirt from the sink that has gone down the sink drain and preventing this debris from clogging your plumbing system. It also keeps sewer smells and gases from escaping out of the sink drain and into your home.

A drain line, on the other hand, is a drain that brings wastewater out of specific areas in your home. Examples include sink drains, shower drains, and toilet lines.

Each of these plumbing fixtures has its own drain line, bringing the wastewater out into your home’s septic tank main sewer line. This main sewer line from your home will then connect to your community’s sewer line.

Elson manufactures various types of sink drain outlets and floor and shower grates that can connect to both p-traps and drain lines to help manage the efficient removal of wastewater from both sinks and showers.
